AT THE “CELEBRATE CHARLOTTE’S FUTURE” Transition Town gathering at the Old Lantern Restaurant in November 2012, community members gathered in small groups around a number of suggested Transition action themes–
Participants found out which of their neighbors shared their particular interests. Many fruitful ideas and proposals were offered and recorded.
Since then a number of Charlotters have been meeting regularly to explore the next steps in developing a new community meeting places. After exciting discussions, group envisioning, and initial exploration of potential sites, they are officially kicking off the process with a big “Charlotte Unplugged–Connecting Our Community“ party 4-8 p.m., Sunday June 2, at the Charlotte Senior Center. All are invited! Click on their recent post, above, for more information.
Those interested in food, energy, and transportation decided to meet jointly because there seemed to be a number of overlapping elements in those three interest areas.
